With a Monday Night Football game on the road against the San Francisco 49ers upcoming, the Bears reported the practice participation for their second practice of the week on Friday and linebacker Brian Urlacher was among those that did not practice.
On Friday, typically the final practice of the week for Sunday games, Urlacher was given the day off by Bears head coach Lovie Smith after participating fully on Thursday. It's not uncommon around the NFL for players of veteran status such as Urlacher - in his 13th season with the Bears - to receive extra days of recovery.
Also not practicing was defensive tackle Matt Toeaina with a calf injury, while both Jay Cutler and Shea McClellin have already been declared out. Henry Melton and Alshon Jeffery participated fully in the practice as both are expected to play on Monday against the 49ers. Jeffery has been out of the lineup with a hand injury since a Week 5 game against the Jaguars and practiced on a limited basis Thursday.
