Chicago Bears kicker Robbie Gould was among those who were unhappy with the state of Solider Field on Sunday night, when the Bears lost to the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football.
Per the Chicago Tribune, Solider Field will receive a face lift this week, as the middle 40 yards of the field will be removed on Thursday before being replaced with new sod on Friday.
Gould, among others, criticized the grounds crew for not covering the field with a tarp prior to kick off, making the field a soggy mess by the time kickoff came around.
Gould converted 2-of-3 field goals in the contest. Gould converted a 51-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 24-yard field goal in the third quarter, but missed a 48-yard attempt in the fourth quarter.
Chicago's next home game is on Sunday, Nov. 25, when the Bears host the Minnesota Vikings. Soldier Field should be in pristine condition, new sod and all, by then.
