Chicago Bears DE Shea McClellin leaves with concussion

Jay Cutler wasn't the only Bears player who suffered a concussion on Sunday night, as rookie defensive end Shea McClellin was also knocked out of the game with a head injury. The exact play on which McClellin suffered a concussion is not known, but he did exit early in the first quarter and never returned in Chicago's 13-6 loss to the Texans.

McClellin was the No. 19 overall pick in April's draft, and according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune, it's at least the second concussion of his playing career. The subject of McClellin's concussion history came up around the time of the draft, with varying reports on how many he sustained during his tenure at Boise State. The rookie says he's only suffered one significant concussion but also had another "mild" one while playing for the Broncos. Some reports before the Draft said that he had suffered three during his playing days in college. McClellin adamantly denied those reports, saying he suffered just one concussion.

McClellin has appeared in all nine games this season, registering nine total tackles and 2.5 sacks.
