The Chicago Bears saw promising rookie Alshon Jeffery go down with a hand injury after catching a touchdown pass against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. According to ESPN Chicago, the Bears are expected to sign wide receiver Kamar Aiken to their practice squad on Tuesday. Aiken was recently released from the practice squad of the Buffalo Bills, and there are no terms announced for the signing.
Jeffery has a fracture in his right hand, and guys like Devin Hester and Earl Bennett will be looked on to make an impact in his absence. Bennett has missed the last two games with a hand injury of his own, but began practicing in a limited capacity last week and could return after the bye.
Rookie Joe Anderson could be promoted from the practice squad, with Aiken taking his place. Anderson had a big preseason and training camp but was left off the final roster. Jeffery had an x-ray on Monday morning and many believe that he'll miss multiple games.
