Sherrick McManis injury: Bears CB questionable for MNF

The special teams maven miss Monday night's matchup with a hip strain.

The Chicago Bears may be without one of their most unheralded key contributors when they take on the Detroit Lions on Monday night. Cornerback Sherrick McManis, who leads the team with five special teams tackles, is listed as questionable with a hip strain that he suffered in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to ESPN Chicago, the recently re-signed Zack Bowman would likely fill in on special teams if McManis, who the Bears acquired via trade prior to the season, is unable to go.

Elsewhere on Chicago's injury report, Devin Hester and Blake Costanzo are expected to play, as are Earl Bennett, Julius Peppers and Brian Urlacher. The latter three sat out practice on Friday, but returned on Saturday. Receiver Alshon Jeffery, who injured his hand in Jacksonville, has already been ruled out.

With a win on Monday night, the Bears would maintain their lead in the NFC North. A loss, though, would drop them to a tie for first with the Minnesota Vikings.
