Bears vs. Cowboys score update: Chicago opens up double-digit lead

The Chicago Bears are one quarter away from a 3-1 start, as they have opened up a comfortable 24-10 lead over the Dallas Cowboys heading into the final frame on Monday night.

The Bears struck quickly at the beginning of the third quarter, grabbing a 17-7 lead on a 34-yard bomb from Jay Cutler to Devin Hester. The touchdown reception was Hester's first of the season.

A litany of turnovers followed in the wake of the Hester score. A long Cowboys drive ended in a interception by Bears safety Major Wright. The Bears coughed it right back after the Cowboys recovered a Cutler fumble

But on the ensuing Cowboys possession, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo was intercepted for a third time. This time, Bears linebacker Lance Briggs returned the pick 74 yards for a score, marking the second defensive touchdown of the game for Chicago.

For the game, Cutler has played an efficient game, completing 15-of-20 passes for 189 yards. Wide receiver Brandon Marshall has five catches for 77 yards. Running back Matt Forte has shaken off an early injury to rush for 48 yards on 10 carries.
