NFL Power Rankings: ESPN Ranks Chicago Bears No. 20

According to the latest Power Rankings from ESPN, the Chicago Bears (8-8) have a long way to go until they reach the top. However, their first may be already taken care of:

No. 20, Chicago Bears: Lovie Smith's toughest decision is whether to re-sign offensive coordinator Mike Martz. (Clayton)

Earlier on Tuesday morning, the Bears announced they had relieved GM Jerry Angelo of duty. Shortly thereafter, Mike Martz, the team's offensive coordinator since 2010, announced his resignation.

Near the midpoint of the 2011 NFL Season, the Bears had a 7-3 record and looked poised for a Super Bowl run when starting quarterback Jay Cutler went down with a season-ending thumb injury. The Martz resignation mean Cutler will have a his third offensive coordinator in just his fourth season with the Bears.
