The Chicago Bears will continue their ongoing quest to find the team's next general manager, according to CSN Chicago's Kip Lewis, without the services of Jimmy Raye.
Raye finished the 2011 NFL season as the director of player personnel for the San Diego Chargers, a role in which he oversaw the pro and college scouting departments in San Diego. The elimination of Raye leaves four candidates:
Candidates
Tim Ruskell (Bears)
Marc Ross (Giants)
Jason Licht (Patriots)
Phil Emery (Chiefs)
Out
Jimmy Raye (Chargers)
The Bears appear to have concluded their assembling of their candidate list, so the next GM should come from the crop of remaining candidates. According to Sean Jensen of the Sun-Time, the leading candidate may well be Phil Emery of the Chiefs.
