The Bears special teams unit has been labeled one of the best in all of football the past few seasons. Yes Devin Hester on your squad does help your statistics. Robbie Gould is one of the best and most accurate kickers in the game.
One man who doesn't get enough credit is special teams coordinator Dave Toub. Toub is as good as they get when it comes to special teams coaches. In fact he has been linked to potential head coach openings in places like Miami.
On Tuesday the Bears rewarded Toub with a two-year contact extension. Terms of the deal weren't available at this time.
Toub has been with the Bears since 2004 and was one of the original members of Lovie Smith's staff. In his time with the Bears five different special teams players have made the pro bowl including Corey Graham this season.
