Brian Urlacher Injury: Bears LB Suffers Sprained MCL

The Chicago Bears won their season finale on Sunday but were once again forced to deal with an injury to a key contributor. When safety Major Wright went up to make a play on a ball in the fourth quarter and landed on linebacker Brian Urlacher, the result was scary enough that many feared the worst.

"It was as quiet as can be in the stadium," said receiver Roy Williams. "That shows respect for ‘Lach.’ Our jaws dropped when we saw what happened [on the replay board]. Our prayers go out to him and we know he’ll be ready to go next year."

Fortunately for Urlacher and the Bears, he escaped the hit without major ligament damage and suffered a sprain MCL, according to the team.
