Bears Sign Offensive Lineman Edwin Williams To Extension

The Chicago Bears announced on Wednesday that they have re-signed offensive lineman Edwin Williams to a two-year contract extension that will keep the lineman with the Bears through the 2013 season. ↵

Williams has started the last six games for the Bears at left guard after Chris Williams was placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury.

The University of Maryland product is in his third season in the NFL. Williams has helped the Bears running game and even scored his first career touchdown against the Packers on Christmas when he picked up a Kahlil Bell fumble in the endzone.

The Bears signed Williams to their practice squad in September of 2010. He was added to the active roster later that month. Terms of the new contact were not disclosed at this time.
