Johnny Knox Injury Update: Bears WR Carried Off On Stretcher After Hard Hit

Boy, I'm not sure that any of us have ever seen a hit like this before. Early in the first quarter of Sunday's game between the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks, Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox needed to be carried off the field on a stretcher after literally being bent backwards on a brutal hit from defensive end Anthony Hargrove.

Knox caught the ball in the open field and appeared to have a quality gain, but he got stripped on the play and tried to recover by diving for the loose ball. Hargrove tried to make essentially the same diving play at the same time, leading to an unfortunate situation where Knox was essentially driven backwards and bent in half. The video is shown below, but be aware that you're about to feel very, very bad for Mr. Knox:

Knox laid idle on the field for minutes before a stretcher was finally brought out. He didn't move while laying on the ground initially, but managed to raise his fist to an eruption of cheering while being carted off the field. The injury is officially being described as a mid-back injury, and he won't return for the game.
