Bears Vs. Seahawks: Chicago To Promote DE Thaddeus Gibson

In the wake of the Sam Hurd arrest, the Chicago Bears have begun the process of promoting DE Thaddeus Gibsonfrom the practice squad. Though the Bears have not officially announced the transaction, Chicago is likely to drop Sam Hurd from their roster as a result of his developing legal trouble with the federal government.

A former linebacker out of Ohio State, Thaddeus Gibson has spent time with the Chicago Bears, the San Francisco 49ers, the Washington Redskins, and the Pittsburgh Steelers -- who drafted him, released him, and then tried to claim him in 2010.

Gibson, who accrued 10.0 sacks with the Ohio State Buckeyes, has played in two NFL games, collecting three tackles and either 1 or 2 forced fumbles -- depending on the source.
