Jay Cutler Injury: Cutler To Have Surgery On Thumb, No Date Set

After seeing a specialist this morning, it has been decided that Bears QB Jay Cutler will have surgery on his fractured right thumb, although the date of the surgery has yet to be set. The Bears initially announced that Cutler would undergo surgery on Tuesday, but they retracted that statement just a few minutes later and announced that a timetable has yet to be set.

The Bears are hopeful that Cutler can return before the conclusion of the season, but with only six weeks left, Cutler would have to recover from the injury very quickly. If there's any good news for the Bears, it's only two of their remaining six opponents currently have winning records, so they may be able to weather the storm after all.
