Devin Hester Named NFC Special Teams Player Of The Week

Thanks to his punt return for a touchdown against the Detroit Lions to put the Bears up 20-0, Devin Hester was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 10 of the season. The touchdown was the 12th time in his career that Hester has taken a punt all the way back (to go with five kick off returns), and, according to the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs, this was also the 12th time that Hester has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week, including the third time this season.

Biggs also reported that Hester is tied for the 11th most weekly awards in the NFL since 1984, although he's still 10 away from reaching Peyton Manning, who leads the pack. If his career is any indication, though, this won't be Hester's last.
