Just as the offensive line began to click for the Bears, the Bears have lost some depth after having to place guard Chris Williams on Injured Reserve. Williams is the second offensive lineman to have surgery this week. Rookie Gabe Carimi had arthroscopic knee surgery last week. Williams had emergency surgery on his left wrist at the end of the Bears blow out victory against the Lions.
↵According to Roberto Garza, "Chris has been doing a great job of stepping in and being a leader on the offensive line," center Roberto Garza said Monday at Halas Hall. "It's a tough loss for us but obviously somebody has to step up and Edwin (Williams) did that during the game. I thought he came into the game (at left guard) and did a good job." "Obviously, this is a big win for us. It meant a lot in the division race, trying to get that wild card playoff (berth)," Garza said. "For us it was just a matter of going out there and getting better every week, and putting these four games together is big for us. Coach Lovie (Smith) said with this win the next game becomes more important, so we have to be ready to go out there and put another game together."
↵The success of the offensive line will be the key to the Bears making another playoff run this season.
