Chicago Bears And Detroit Lions Update: Bears Take 7-0 Lead

In an extremely important game between two teams fighting for a wild card spot it was the Bears who struck first. Detroit received the opening kickoff and was able to drive the ball to about midfield before the Bears were able to do what they do best. Create turnovers. Julius Peppers forced a fumble on stud wide receiver Calvin Johnson and was picked up by Brian Urlacher and returned to the Detroit 30-yard line. That is only Detroits second fumble of the season.

With a short field to work with, the Bears ran Matt Forte and also threw a screen to him. The key play of the drive though was another Detroit miscue. Kyle Vanden Bosch was called for a late hit which gave the Bears 15 more yards and a first and goal. Matt Forte was able to take the ball in from the six yard line for another touchdown. Robbie Gould made the score 7-0 after his extra point.
