With the Chicago Bears on a bye week after their huge week 7 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, this is a good opportunity to take a look around at the rest of the NFC North teams.
The Detroit Lions, who have now lost their last two games, travel to Denver for a matchup against QB Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. Odds Shark currently lists the Lions as a 2.5 point favorite over the Broncos, and the over/under for the game is set at 42 points. Lions RB Jahvid Best did not practice on Wednesday (concussion) and is not expected to play, while QB Matthew Stafford (ankle) was limited in practice and his status remains unknown.
The undefeated Green Bay Packers are also on bye this week coming off a 33-27 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Speaking of the Vikings, they head to Charlotte to take on QB Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. There is excitement over the start of the Christian Ponder era in Minnesota, but the Vikings are currently listed as 4-point underdogs to Cam Newton and the Panthers. Even though the game features two rookie quarterbacks, it is still expected to be a relatively high-scoring affair as the over/under for the game is set at 48 points.
