With the Bears finding a strong balance between the run and pass during their current two-game winning streak, Fox Sports' Brian Billick moved them up to No. 14 in his latest NFL power rankings. According to Billick, the Bears are starting to resemble the team that made the NFC Championship game last season:
I don't understand why it always takes the Bears a little while at the beginning of the season to crack the code. But once again, they are beginning to show signs of the balance that is their winning formula. If the takeaways continue to pile up like they did vs Tampa Bay, the Bears could make a run akin to last year.
The two games following the bye week will be vital in determining if Chicago can compete for a playoff spot. In the two games after the bye, the Bears will travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles on Monday Night Football. Following that, the Bears host the Detroit Lions in what will be a crucial NFC North meeting.
