NFL Pro Bowl Voting: Brian Urlacher, Julius Peppers, Devin Hester Top Bears Vote-Getters

NFL Pro Bowl voting, which ended Monday, registered almost 100 million votes: a record 89.52 million votes on, 8.50 million votes via wireless phones and 570,000 votes on Facebook, for a total of 98.59 million votes.

The Bears' Julius Peppers got 418,380 votes and was the leading vote-getter at defensive end; Brian Urlacher led all inside linebackers with 314,584 votes. Devin Hester, who just set an NFL record with his 14th career return touchdown, had 239,641 votes, the most of any kick returner.

The NFL is the only sports league that combines voting by fans, coaches and players to determine its all-star teams. Each group’s vote counts one-third towards determining the 43-man rosters that represent the American Football Conference and National Football Conference in the Pro Bowl. NFL players and coaches are casting their votes today and tomorrow, and the teams will be announced at 6 p.m. CST on Tuesday, Dec. 28 on a special NFL Total Access 2011 Pro Bowl Selection Show on the NFL Network.
