Chicago Bears Vs. New England Patriots: Third Quarter Ends 36-7 Pats

Tom Brady and the Patriots start at their own 20, after a Robbie Gould touchback.

He hits Deion branch for seven, then throws a rare incomplete with lots of time, he finds Deion branch, who’s having a career day. First down, and the defense swarms BenJarvus Green-Ellis for a loss. The Pats are called for holding Julius Peppers for second and 22.

Brady throws a screen to Wes Welker and he runs 18 yards. They get the first on the next play. They reach the Bears 40 on an encroachmnet penalty. Rob Gronkowski picks up 13 yard for a first down.

Green-Ellis gets two, after escaping several defenders, and Julius Peppers gets him behind the line on the next play. Brady throws an incomplete screen in the gusting wind and they go for fourth and 11. A short pass doesn’t get the yards and the Bears take over on downs, at their own 23.

Jay Cutler finds Devin Hester, who turns it into a first down, then overthrows Matt Forte. He hits Earl Bennett for just enough to move the sticks. Then Devin Aromashudo for 16. Johnny Knox gets a pass interference call to get first down, and the Bears are driving.

Cutler tries for the TD to Hester, but he’s well covered. A very nice drive ends on the next play, as Cutler throws an interception right to Gary Guyton, who appeard to be alone.

The Pats take over with 16 seconds left in the half, from their own 29 yard line.

And Brian Urlacher briefly gives the fans a lift when he seems to cuse a turnover, but it’s ruled incomplete. Another incomplete is followed by a third down reception for a first.
