The Chicago Bears enter the 2013 NFL Draft with glaring holes on the offensive line and an aging defense. However, not every draftnik has them going in those directions.
SB Nation's Dan Kadar released his latest mock draft on Monday, and in it he has the Bears taking Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert with the 20th overall pick:
Under Marc Trestman, look for the Bears to utilize more West Coast offense principles. In that system, it will be important to have a pass catching tight end. Eifert is the best one in the draft and can make more of an impact than an offensive tackle.
Other possibilities: D.J. Fluker, Larry Warford
This may be a tough pill for Bears fans to swallow, particularly with Fluker going just one pick later to the Bengals in Kadar's mock. Of course, there will be talented linemen like Andre Smith and Sebastian Vollmer available in free agency, so it's possible Chicago may look to upgrade their line there.
In the meantime, Eifert would be a massive upgrade over Kellen Davis and another quality weapon for Jay Cutler.
