On Friday, March 1, fans in the midwest can expect an action-packed evening filled with college hockey.
Friday, 7:05 ET
Western Michigan at Michigan State
Lake Superior at Northern Michigan
Friday, 7:35 ET
Ferris State at Michigan
There are some tough division battles set to take place.
Western Michigan (18-8-8) has been a middle of the road team in 2012. Though, they have excelled on home ice, posting 13 of their 18 wins in their arena. The Broncos will take on the Michigan State Spartans on Friday, which could be anyone's game.
While the Broncos are the better team, they will be on the road.
Michigan State (10-21-3) is well below .500 this year, but have gone 2-1 in their past three games. Their downfall has been their road record, which has been pitiful. The Spartans are 3-14-2 when playing away from their home ice. But they will be hosts this evening, which could ultimately tip the scales in their favor.
Northern Michigan (14-16-4) will host Lake Superior (10-15-1) on Friday, looking to bounce back from a loss last Saturday. The Wildcats are 1-2 in their past three games and can't seem to string together a solid winning streak. Fortunately, they have done well enough to hold strong at second in their division behind Miami.
Walt Kyle's Wildcats will take the ice at 7:35 p.m., hoping to gain an edge the Hurricanes with a win tonight.
Michigan (12-18-2) will host Ferris State (15-13-4) in a division game, where the Wolverines desperately need to pull out a win. They're riding a two-game win streak and would like to carry that over to their two-round match-up with the Bulldogs this weekend.
However, Ferris State has an 11-point lead on them at the moment. Don't be surprised if the Bulldogs cause problems for the Wolverines.
