The No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish won their two games this weekend, a Friday-Saturday home doubleheader against the Michigan Wolverines.
David Gerths and Anders Lee each had two goals for the Fighting Irish in Friday's 7-4 win over Michigan; it was Lee's goal just more than a minute into the game that set an early pace Notre Dame would sustain throughout the weekend. Notre Dame got 13 more shots on goal Friday than the Wolverines — it was 35-22 in that category — and scored on two of its six power plays.
Gerths and Lee each had a goal in Saturday's 6-4 win over Michigan. Six different players scored for the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame scored twice in the first 98 seconds of the third period to take a 6-2 lead, but Michigan scored two straight goals to get within 6-4. Lee leads Notre Dame and is third in the country with 17 goals so far this season.
