Whitney Young High School in Chicago boasts one of the nation's top prep basketball teams, led by Jahlil Okafor and Paul White. Okafor is one of the top 10 prospects in the 2014 class, according to Scout.com, and he has a lot of talent evaluators impressed with his game. He could continue to climb the recruiting rankings as he completes his junior season.
"In Okafor, we are witnessing the type of player who for the most part has been going the way of the dinosaurs," said Rivals.com analyst Eric Bossi. "He is a true back-to-the-basket center who has serious game and skill when it comes to scoring in the low post."
Okafor has offers from Duke, Kentucky, Arizona, Louisville, Ohio State and Illinois, among others. His Whitney Young team is 11-1 so far this season, with its only loss coming at the hands of Montverde Academy. Montverde is the nation's top-ranked high school basketball team.
