SB Nation's Mocking The Draft released their latest mock draft Monday morning, where they have the Chicago Bears selecting Oklahoma OT Lane Johnson.
Chicago's O-line woes are well documented, and this fits the most obvious need on the team. Johnson is also getting a boost in draft stock with Taylor Lewan and Jake Matthews returning for their senior years. As Dan Kadar put it:
Johnson would fit a big need the Bears have at left tackle and he's very much worth a first-round pick. Johnson, a former quarterback, tight end and defensive end, has loads of potential.
Other offensive linemen who could potentially be available at that spot include Alabama C/G Barrett Jones and G Chance Warmack. Georgia ILB Alec Ogletree could also be in the mix as an eventual replacement for Brian Urlacher. If Phil Emery decides to add more playmakers on offense, Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert is a huge upgrade over Kellen Davis.
