With still more than half the field at the BMW Championship yet to begin their final rounds Sunday, early birdies have moved Scott Piercy and John Sended up the leaderboard.
Piercy began the day at 1-under, 15 shots off the lead, but started off right with a birdie on No. 1. He followed up with another birdie on No. 2 and pars on Nos. 3, 4 and 5. Another birdie at No. 6 has him presently sitting as Sunday's low scorer with a 3-under. He is 4-under for the tournament.
Sended has also moved up the leaderboard slightly Sunday with early birdies on Nos. 1 and 4. He sits at 2-under for the day and 3-under for the tournament.
Neither Piercy nor Senden, however, pose any true threat to the leaders. Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh sit atop the leaderboard at 16-under, one shot ahead of Lee Westwood and world No. 1 Rory McIlroy. The leaders tee off at 1:45 p.m. ET with Westwood and McIlroy teeing off just before them at 1:35 p.m. Tiger Woods is three shots back and tees off at 1:15 p.m.
