White Sox Vs. Royals Game Preview: Hector Santiago Takes The Mound In Second Career Start

The Chicago White Sox face-off with the division rival Kansas City Royals in a rubber match Sunday afternoon.

Chicago dropped the first game of the series Friday, 7-5, but rebounded Saturday behind a strong outing from Chris Sale in a 5-4 victory. Hector Santiago (3-1, 3.71) takes the mound for the White Sox. Fresh off his first career Major League start Sept. 3 against the Minnesota Twins in which he allowed only one run off three hits in five strong innings, Santiago faces a Royals team Sunday looking to play spoiler to the division leading White Sox.

Jeremy Guthrie (7-12, 5.34) will start for Kansas City. The 33 year-old has struggled mightily for most of the 2012 season but has managed to win four of his last six starts, allowing more than two runs only once in that time. Guthrie will look to quiet a Chicago offense which has produced six home runs so far this series.
