White Sox Vs. Royals Game Preview: Chris Sale Looks To Get Back On Track Against Kansas City

The Chicago White Sox kept their one-game lead over the slumping Detroit Tigers Friday, as the Angels scored a walkoff win in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The White Sox, who had lost 7-5 earlier in the evening to the Royals, hang on to their slim lead, but need a strong performance from starting pitcher Chris Sale in the second of a three-game set in Chicago.

Chicago has lost six of their last eight games, including a sweep at the hands of the Tigers in Detroit seven days ago.

The White Sox will need Sale to return to the form he had over the first half of the season, when he was 11-2 with a 2.11 ERA. Offensively, the White Sox are .191 (13-for-68) with runners in scoring position over their last seven games.

It's a good opportunity for Chicago, taking on a Royals squad that will finish under .500, while the Tigers are on the road taking on the red-hot Angels.

First pitch is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. CT.
