Nearly all of the top golfers in the world will be headed to Carmel, Ind., for the 2012 BMW Championship, which starts Thursday. The field will include Northwestern graduate Luke Donald and Illinois graduate Steve Stricker, both of whom will be looking for their second tour wins of 2012.
They will be joined by players like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlory, Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood, all of whom will be looking to climb up the FedEx Cup standings in what is the third of four FedEx Cup contests. Vegas oddsmakers, unsurprisingly, like McIlory, putting him at 13/2 odds to win the event. Just behind him is Woods, who is tabbed at 7/1 odds. Donald comes in at 25/1 odds, putting him inside the top 10, and Stricker is not too far off that at 33/1.
The Golf Channel will handle coverage on Thursday and Friday and a bit over the weekend, but NBC will take over the lion's share from Saturday onward.
