Two schools that made headlines last week for a pair of upsets against heavily-favored opponents, the Northern Illinois Huskies and Central Michigan Chippewas will square off on Saturday from Huskie Stadium to kick off Mid-American Conference play.
The Huskies come into Saturday's game fresh off a statement win over Kansas out of the Big 12, and will hope to once again lean on standout junior quarterback Jordan Lynch. A Chicago native who threw exactly 26 career passes before the season began, Lynch's dual-threat ability has been a major reason for his team's 3-1 start to open the year.
In addition to racking up 845 passing yards and seven touchdowns through the air already after four games, the 6'0, 216-pound Lynch has also torched defenses on the ground for 438 yards and five scores. Eager to keep his string of impressive performances going, the talented junior will still need to be atop his game against a tough Central Michigan defense that completely stifled Iowa in the second half last week.
When: Saturday, Sept. 29
Game time: 2:30 p.m. CT
TV channel: ESPN3
Spread: Northern Illinois by 12
