Cubs vs. Rockies preview: Chicago looks to end losing skid

Riding their latest losing skid, the Chicago Cubs are hoping to reverse their fortunes against a similarly hapless team, the Colorado Rockies, on Wednesday night. The Cubs have lost seven of their past eight games, scoring just 3.1 runs per game during the stretch.

Taking the mound for Chicago on Wednesday is right-hander Jason Berken, who looks to continue his recent success since joining the organization mid-season. After struggling through his debut after the defense faltered behind him, Berken allowed two hits over six shutout innings against the Cincinnati Reds last week.

The Rockies have struggled as much, if not more, than the Cubs lately, but they did notch a victory in the series opener on Tuesday night. Before Colorado's current two-game winning streak, the team had been on an abysmal run, going 3-17 since Sept. 3.

Wednesday's game is scheduled for 7:40 p.m. CT from Coors Field in Denver.
