Indiana vs. Northwestern preview: Wildcats looking to go 5-0

The Northwestern Wildcats will be looking to start their season 5-0 when they take on the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday.

US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Northwestern Wildcats wrapped up their non-conference slate on Saturday with a big 38-7 victory over South Dakota. They improved to a perfect 4-0 on the season – one of which was a road game: Week 1 at Syracuse – and have sizable momentum heading into their next outing: a showdown with the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday.

Indiana is 2-1 on the season, with a 41-39 loss to Ball State in their last outing. Prior to that, they handily dispatched Massachusetts in Week 2 and bested Indiana State by a touchdown in Week 1. Indiana features a couple strong quarterbacks in Cameron Coffman and Tre Roberson, who have combined for the No. 13 passing offense in the FBS.

Coffman is the starter, but left the Sept. 15 game against Ball State with a hip pointer. After the bye week, Coffman looks ready to go for Sunday against Northwestern. The Wildcats have allowed some big point totals this season, but for the most part, they've been in control of every game they've played.

The game is set for Saturday at 12 p.m. ET and will be on the Big Ten Network.
