Other than improving to 4-0 after beating South Dakota on Saturday, 38-7, the Northwestern Wildcats didn't find out much about their team as it enters Big Ten season that they didn't already know. Northwestern blog Sippin' on Purple wrote this after the win:
Northwestern took care of business about as expected against an FCS opponent. Venric Mark got to pad his stats with three touchdowns, so that is good. The defense held the shutout well into the second half, so that is good too, I guess.
Northwestern hosts Indiana on Sept. 29, then travels to Penn State and Minnesota in consecutive weeks, all games that the Wildcats should have good chances of winning. They are in a good position to be 7-0 when they host No. 25 Nebraska on Oct. 20.
