Jabari Parker Recruiting: Forward Adds UConn To List

Simeon High School star Jabari Parker, the nation's No. 1 men's basketball recruit for 2013, has added the University of Connecticut to his list of schools that he will consider joining next season. Parker released his initial list of ten finalists over the summer. It includes Kentucky, Stanford, Michigan State, Kansas, Florida, Duke, Georgetown, North Carolina, BYU and DePaul.

Parker's father says Jabari is making his own decisions on prospective schools, and even with head coach Jim Calhoun transitioning out of the lead spot in the UConn program, new head coach Kevin Ollie has been invited to make an in-home visit. Here is what Parker's father told ESPN about the addition of UConn to the list:

"It was Jabari's decision. He's picking all the schools for the home visits. He's talked to Coach Calhoun previously before. That's one of the schools that showed some interest to him. He's had conversations with them previously. Of course, coach Kevin Ollie came in, and (Jabari) wanted them for a home visit."

Tom Izzo of Michigan St. and Mike Krzyzewski of Duke will make in-home visits next Thursday and Friday, respectively.
