Simeon Career Academy senior forward Jabari Parker will receive in-home visits this week from Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, Michigan State's Tom Izzo and North Carolina's Roy Williams, according to ESPN Chicago's Scott Powers.
Parker, who is the No. 1 overall recruit for the class of 2013, is being actively recruited by a whole host of schools, including Chicago's own DePaul University. In addition, BYU, Florida and Kansas have already made in-home visits, while Stanford head coach Johnny Dawkins plans to visit next week. After that, Parker will cut his list to five schools.
The University of Illinois isn't currently on Parker's list, but head coach John Groce has continued to recruit him anyway, with the hope that the Illini can re-enter the picture and have an opportunity to make a visit. Just this past Saturday, Parker's high school teammate, Kendrick Nunn, committed to Illinois.
Parker was named the state of Illinois' Mr. Basketball, as well as the Gatorade National Player of the Year, for his performance this past season. He averaged nearly 20 points, nine rebounds, and five assists per game.
