Matt Garza Injury: Cubs RHP Intends To Pitch Again This Season

Cubs RHP Matt Garza is on the disabled list with a stress reaction in his right elbow, and while the injury could mean the end of his season, he's working hard to get back on the field.

Garza said he's "working my tail off to get back" to return this year, and has changed his diet to "incorporate quicker healing."

After going on the DL, Garza tweeted that pitching was like "breathing" to him, and it was difficult to get shut down.

Garza is 5-7 with a 3.91 ERA in 18 starts for the Cubs in 2012. He hasn't pitched for Chicago since an injury-shortened start on July 21.
