American gymnast Gabby Douglas— who won gold in both the team and individual all-around events in London— may go down as the star of the 2012 Olympics, and one of the legendary gymnasts in history. Monday, though, was a day to forget. Douglas competed in the individual uneven bars final, but finished eighth out of eight competitors with a score of 14.900.
The gold was won by Russian Aliya Mustafina, who finished with a score of 16.133. The silver went to Kexin He of China, while the bronze was claimed by Elizabeth Tweddle of Great Britain. Douglas has had about as good of an Olympics as possible, but it may have taken its toll on her:
Gabby said she's not sure how much sleep she's getting. Is hoping to bounce back for beam finals. She looked exhausted.
