Notre Dame Needs More 'Bad Citizens' To Win, Says Commentator And Former Irish Star Allen Pinkett

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team needs more 'bad citizens" on its roster if it actually wants to compete at a high level, says commentator and former Irish star Allen Pinkett. Speaking on The McNeil and Spiegel Show on 670 The Score, Pinkett explained that having those supposedly "bad seeds" can help a team (quotes via Deadspin):

I've always felt like, to have a successful team, you gotta have a few bad citizens on the team... You look at the teams that have won in the past. They always have a couple of criminals... I mean, that's how Ohio State used to win all the time. They would have two or three guys that were criminals. That just adds to the chemistry of the team.

The Irish have suspended numerous players this offseason for off-field behavior, but Pinkett still seems to think that Brian Kelly's squad could have a bit more of an edge. Last season, the Irish went 8-5, and they're considered to have one of the most difficult schedules in the nation for this season.
