After easing the starters back into game mode in Week 1 of the preseason, Mike Shanahan told reporters on Thursday that the Redskins starters will play much more in Week 2 when they take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Saturday.
Shanahan told media that the Redskins starters, including rookie quarterback and second overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, Robert Griffin III, will play about 30-35 plays on Friday which should roughly equate to about the first half.
Griffin III played in only the first quarter of the first preseason game for the Redskins before getting pulled with about three minutes left in the quarter. In his second game under NFL lights, the Bears will get a full half against the rookie and get a longer test of the starters on Saturday.
