The 19th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Chicago Bears rookie defensive end Shea McClellin had some rough times during the first few days of training camp. His performance in last Thursday's loss to the Denver Broncos made GM Phil Emery a happy man, Emery told ESPN 1000 Tuesday:
"The most important thing when you look at Shea is he’s a very instinctive, very good ballplayer. He’s a baller. He makes plays on instincts. I see that. That was evident last Thursday in that he made plays. So I feel very good about where Shea’s going."
McClellin, a linebacker when he played at Boise State, had three tackles in Thursday's game, including a tackle-for-loss and a sack of former Bears backup quarterback Caleb Hanie.
