With All-Pro LB Brian Urlacher still missing time due to the aftereffects of a late-season injury, the Chicago Bears have added a pair of young middle linebackers Xavier Adibi and K.C. Asiodu. According to head coach Lovie Smith, the Bears hope to have Urlacher back soon, but will have to keep a close eye on his health:
"Brian Urlacher is back after he’s taken care of some business," said coach Lovie Smith. "So it was good to get him back out on the practice field even though he’s not practicing yet. He still has some soreness with the knee. We’ll continue to monitor it.
"Exactly when he’ll be back, I can’t tell you that."
Urlacher, 34, is entering his 13th NFL season and the final year of his contract with the Bears.
