The Notre Dame Fighting Irish picked up a verbal commitment from class of 2014 wide receiver Justin Brent on Monday.
"They're close to home," Brent told 247Sports national writer Steve Wiltfong after landing the offer, noting the Irish were the team to beat. "It's a place my mom would be able to come see me if she needed me. It felt comfortable. They were the first school to visit me at school, first school I went to see a game at, first place I signed an autograph, and they were the first to offer.
"They were the first for a lot."
