Tour de France 2012 Results: André Greipel Claims Stage 4

Stage 4 of the Tour de France was a grueling 214.5 kilometer push down the coast of Normandy, and it was won by Germany's André Greipel, who rides for the UCI Pro Team. Greipel finished the leg in 5 hours, 18 minutes and 32 seconds. Here are the top 5 finishers for Stage 4:

  1. André Greipel (GER)
  2. Alessandro Petacchi (ITA)
  3. Tom Veelers (NED)
  4. Matt Goss (AUS)
  5. Peter Sagan (SVK)

Finish times beyond that are not yet available. Greipel's win, though, did not move the needle at the top of the overall standings, as Team Radioshack's Fabian Cancellara still holds the yellow jersey. Team Sky's Bradley Wiggins remains in second, seven seconds behind the leader.

Stage 4 was colored by a crash just before the racers entered the stage's final sprint. The crash knocked down, but not out, Mark Cavendish, amongst others.
