The theme of 2012 Olympic opening ceremonies is "Isles of Wonder."

The Ceremony will kick off with the sound of the largest harmonically tuned bell in Europe, produced by the Whitechapel Foundry, and the Stadium will be transformed into the British countryside for opening scene ‘Green and Pleasant’, which includes real farmyard animals.

NBC is going to offer live streaming of much of the 2012 games, though not without restrictions. Online users must have "a cable, satellite or telco TV subscription that includes MSNBC and CNBC" to watch events via internet stream.
