Wimbledon Scores And Results: Top-Ranked Maria Sharapova Eliminated

The men's side of Wimbledon 2012 has already lost Rafael Nadal, and now the women's side has lost top-seeded Maria Sharapova. Sharapova fell today at the All England Club to No. 15 seed Sabine Lisicki in straight sets 4-6, 3-6, opening up the field for the rest of the competition.

Those competitors include sixth seeded Serena Williams, who defeated unranked Yaroslava Shvedova, 6-1, 2-6, 7-5, to advance to the next round. Other winners on the women's side include third ranked Agnieszka Radwanska, fourth ranked Petra Kvitova and No. 8 seed Angelique Kerber, who knocked off Kim Clijsters.

On the men's side, one match is in the books: third seeded Roger Federer defeated Xavier Malisse in four sets.
