On July 11, Frenchman Thomas Voeckler won Stage 10 of the 2012 Tour de France. He found himself back at the head of the pack on Wednesday when he finished Stage 16 almost two minutes ahead of the field. To Voeckler, though, his victory on Wednesday might not have been much of a surprise. The stage ended in Bagnères-de-Luchon, and the last time a stage ended there (in 2010), Voeckler also found himself victorious.
Alas, Stage 16 had no affect on the top of the general classification. Bradley Wiggins, Christopher Froome and Vincenzo Nibali all remain in the top three spots overall, with Wiggins maintaining a +2:05 lead over Froome. All three riders finished Wednesday's race +7:09 behind Voeckler.
