According to the Chicago Tribune, NBA rookie PF Anthony Davis has signed an endorsement deal with Nike. Davis' contract with the athletic-wear mega brand marks his first professional contract since leaving the University of Kentucky.
The Chicago native Davis played one season with the Kentucky Wildcats before the New Orleans Hornets selected in the 2012 NBA Draft. He averaged 14.2 points, 4.7 blocks and 10.4 rebounds per game while with the Wildcats and was considered a unanimous top overall selection.
Nike has signed a number of famous athletes to lucrative endorsements, including Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Andre Agassi. Anthony Davis joins a group that includes seven of the last 10 top overall NBA Draft picks to sign with Nike.
