Troy Matteson fired an opening round 61 at the John Deere Classic on Thursday and while there are still some players on the course finishing up their rounds, there's no doubt at this point that Matteson will be the leader heading into Friday.

Steve Stricker has won this tournament in each of the last three years, and he's off to a fine start with a first round 65. Stricker is tied with five other golfers at six-under. Ricky Barnes is alone in second place at seven under par.
Among the other notables, K.J. Choi is in the six-under group with Stricker, Ben Crane is at -5 and Zach Johnson sits at three under par.
