The New Orleans Hornets have taken Kentucky center Anthony Davis with the first pick of the 2012 NBA Draft. This selection comes as no surprise, as Davis has long been considered a lock to be the top selection.

Davis was part of a highly-touted freshman class at Kentucky that helped lead the Wildcats to the 2012 NCAA national championship. Davis' presence was a major reason why the Wildcats were so tough to beat -- he was one of the nation's best shot blockers and also proved to be an efficient scorer at the offensive end.
Davis averaged 14.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 4.7 blocks per game during 2011-12.
